Formed in the Summer of 2006 . . .
The Fur Takers of Oklahoma Association (FTOA) is a formally recognized group of Trappers who buy & sell fur pelts. To sell at our Fur Sales (auctions), you must be a member of the FTOA in order to sell.Members of the FTOA trap a variety of animals from Beaver to Bobcat, are licensed* by the State of Oklahoma to buy furs. To buy furs (be a fur buyer), you must have a special license issued from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife at a cost of $25.00 per year but you do not have to have the Hunting or Trapping license to purchase the Fur Buyer license.

This is a state-wide organization, dedicated to the advancement and refinement of the methods of fur trapping and fur hunting and shall actively promote the interests and enhancement of Oklahoma's fur-bearer resources. Membership is open to those individuals and affiliated groups which recognize basic individual responsibilities for wise fur-bearer management. Memberships in the FTOA are:
1 year with Trapper Magazine (10 issues/year) -- $18.00
(Trapper & Predator Caller which is worth way more than the price.)
1 year Family Membership with magazine -- $23.00
1 year without magazine -- $11.00
LIFETIME Memberships in the FTOA also available.
The Organization will have a Spring and a Fall meeting as well as at least two (2) Fur Sales (Auctions) the first of each calendar year*. The meetings & Fur Sales will be held at the Okmulgee Fairgrounds in Okmulgee, Oklahoma (a central location).

The FTOA will hold a drawing for a Remington 270 rifle (great for plains-game hunting!). Tickets are (presently) being printed and will be sold at $3.00 each or 7 tickets for $20.00 Money raised from this giveaway is needed to help the FTOA meet financial needs.
